Imaginary processions, exotic places, jungles, drums and voices; a mix of technology, traditional, acoustic and electronic. It was the late NY trumpetist Jon Hassell who coined the term 'Fourth World Music' to be something of that ilk; a dark hybrid of music both ancient and digital, composed and improvised, Eastern and Western. I'll be taking some inspiration from him for this music-packed program.
