Qais Essar is an American/Afghan musician who will again tour Australia to promote his new album. He plays an ancient lute called the rebab, and he delves deep into the world of Indian and Afghan folk and classical music, with the added perspective of an American upbringing and his musical interactions there. You'll hear part of an interview I recorded with him for his last tour here.
There's music from Finland and Indian fusion as a bonus.
