#657 — Women from the Middle East, electro-flamenco, 9/Nine Horses and Indian fusions

Listen back to recent programs

Program 657
Farah Kaddour
Broadcast

Music by Gelareh Pour, Marjan Vahdat and Elana Sasson precede traditional music from Pakistan and Lebanon. Then a Brazilian taking inspiration from Denmark, and an epic trans-cultural jazz suite from Finland lead us to electronically-influenced flamenco and celtic music from Spain.

In the second hour, two very different projects under similar names; 9 Horses  formed in NYC by Joseph Brent, Sara Caswell, and Andrew Ryan, and the other Nine Horses  by David Sylvian, Steve Jansen and Burnt Friedman.  Plus Indian fusions and Jon Hassell at his most sublime.
