Here are some photos of sculptural works by Kartika that are displayed in her gallery. Actually, she does not particularly like calling it a ''gallery'' as she finds the word a bit impersonal and businesslike. She prefers ''omahe'' which means in javanese ''house'' or perhaps in this context ''place.'' So here are some sculptural works displayed in ''Omahe Kartika'' or "Kartika's Place"... They are all intense pieces to see and be around, and I hope the photos convey something of that. And when you hear Kartika explain the inspiration and motivation behind these pieces, then they really come to life. But I suppose you will just have to wait and see the documentary for that... ;)

I am constantly amazed by Kartika's seemingly limitless energy. In fact, I sometimes find it challenging just keeping up with this Great-Grandmother who is a quarter-century my senior.
