Batida - Neon Colonialismo

#582 — Folk, rock & electronics; French Mayotte, Angola, Saamiland

Electronic beats and dance music mixed up with acoustic instruments can bring new appeal to folk melodies. There are new releases from French Mayotte, Angola and Saamiland.

Also, Djilpin Arts have just re-released an important 2007 album of departed Arnhem Land songmen jamming with the late Ross Hannaford, and a Melbourne jazz trio has a fine new Bulgarian flavoured album.
