#552 — Hurt and healing, ritual and spiritual

Today's subtheme includes music used and created as part of a healing process, and yes, a lot of people have needed healing after a couple of particularly difficult years dealing with lockdowns,  and now war.

The Canadian music journalist, radio presenter and record producer Dan Rosenberg, kindly sent a collection of Ukrainian tracks to my friend and colleague Roger Holdsworth in Melbourne. Roger presents Global Village on PBS every Sunday at 5pm. This Rough Guide to the Music of Ukraine  was intended for commercial release, but the project stopped when the instigator died.

As well as music from Ukraine, Croatia, Serbia, Korea, Iran, Cyprus, Egypt and Morroco, there's also unreleased music from Indonesia, and gong music from The Philippines and Australia.
